Represent SLDN at Your Hometown Pride!

Pride festivals are terrific places to get people talking about the movement to repeal "Don't Ask, Don't Tell." We need your help to reach communities across the country!

Apply to be a Pride Captain

Pride Captains are our leaders on the ground at Pride events nationwide. Tell us at which event you want to host an SLDN booth, and why you want to take this special role in SLDN's Pride outreach campaign. Once we approve your application, we will secure a booth for SLDN at the festival of your choice, help you recruit volunteers to staff the booth, and provide you with materials to educate your community at Pride about lifting the ban.

As your event's Captain, you will be responsible for setting up SLDN's booth with materials we ship to you, ensuring that festivalgoers have positive interactions with our booth throughout the event, packing up leftover materials and shipping them back to SLDN headquarters, and recruiting volunteers to help you during the festival. You will receive more information about these responsibilities once we approve your application to be a Captain.

The deadline for your application to be a Pride Captain is one month before your event's deadline for booth applications.

We will also need many volunteers to make the most of each Pride event! If being a Captain isn't for you, keep checking your email for information about Pride events coming up in your area where you can help for a few hours as a volunteer.

Should you have additional questions about SLDN's Pride campaign, please contact us at pride@sldn.org.
